I ate here. I ate Indian food at Henry J. Bean’s Bar and Grill. I ate Indian food at this American themed restaurant inside of a 4-star hotel attached to the Don Muang International Airport in Bangkok. Why? I missed my connecting flight to Udon Thani. Why? I used an app called KIWI for cheap flights that tells you in the finest of print that you must transfer from one airline to another (that means getting checked bags and checking in to second said airline) … and my Thai Lion Air flight left 45 minutes late from Osaka for no known reason (or we weren’t told). To be fair, I wouldn’t have made the connection if it were on time. So, I booked an Air Asia flight for the next morning.
I ate at Henry J. Bean’s Bar and Grill with a traveler that yelled at me to get my attention in the corridor between the hotel and the airport. She missed her flight to Myanmar, because she, too, used the app KIWI. She asked me how much the hotel was. I didn’t know and suggested we figure it out together. We shared a room. She introduced me to the musician Tash Sultana, who she saw in Melbourne and really enjoyed. She’s right. Tash Sultana is dope.
We discussed the universe and life all whilst we ate Indian food at Henry J. Bean’s Bar and Grill. It was so late at night and yet Henry J. Bean’s was open.
Neither of us will use the app KIWI again.
We both made it to our destinations the next day.
